The American Cancer Society is a nationwide, community-based nonprofit dedicated to ending cancer as we know it—for everyone. Serving Hancock County and the state of Mississippi, we work to improve the lives of people facing cancer and their families through patient support, advocacy, research, and lifesaving programs.

Locally, we help remove barriers to care by providing free transportation to treatment, lodging through the Gertrude C. Ford Hope Lodge in Jackson, and 24/7 support through ACS CARES. We also partner with local businesses and community leaders through signature events like Shuck Cancer Gulf Coast to fund critical services for patients across rural and coastal Mississippi.
